Georgy Malenkov was born in Orenburg, Russia on January 13th, 1902. He was married to Valeria Malenkov and had 3 children. In 1919 he joined the Red Army and was a political worker of the military forces. In 1920, Malenkov studied electrotechnics in the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. He joined the Communist Party and in 1925 Joseph Stalin appointed him as his personal secretary. In WW II, Malenkov was part of a council of five men that managed the Soviet Unions war efforts. Joseph Stalin appointed him prime minister in 1946. He died on January 14th, 1988. His death was reported in the Soviet press.
Malenkov was one of only a few important members from Stalin’s close circle who died from natural causes.
